David Blessings said he wants to foster a culture of happiness through his business, Blessings Plants & Music. He said each product is specifically designed to improve the quality of life of its customers.
“I believe in God the Creator, and God said the reason we were created was to enjoy life,” he said. “In fact, a similar saying in the Bible is, “I know the plans I have for you,” that you may prosper and that you may be in good health. Not to hurt or hurt.’ If that is the Creator’s goal for you, why aren’t we more in step so that we can experience more of His reason for being?”

Blessings Plants & Music opened its first location in Montrose in October 2020, followed by a location in the Heights this fall.
“When I first came to Houston, [these were] If you’re interested in art and creativity, it’s an area you’ve heard of,” Blessings said.
The store carries houseplants, nutritional herbs, vinyl records, and other related products such as planters, artwork, coffee mugs, and record players. Blessings said the brand is also the official houseplant provider for the Houston Botanical Garden.

Each of these products helps provide practical applications of spirituality aimed at incorporating goodness into customers’ daily lives, Blessings said.
“Music is good for you. It’s scientifically proven to help release endorphins, which are good hormones,” Blessings said. “Herbs exist for you as nutrition and medicine, and they also exist to heal you and aid your health. And without plants, you and I literally could not exist.”

Looking to the future
Blessing said she would like to see her store transformed into a space for nutritional consulting and herbalism classes.
He is passionate about helping more people access plant-based treatments, as he believes they can help prevent disease, maintain health and, in some cases, help the body recover and heal. He said he was excited about it.

“We are still in the bud stage,” he said. “We planted the seeds and they sprouted. We are encouraged, but our ultimate goal is to create materials and opportunities for people to learn how to design a life of blessing. is.”
