This place where the mundane and the mystical meet may seem otherworldly, but there is a slice of magic in Bowling Green – this isn’t witchcraft for evil, but for harnessing Mother Nature and spiritual wellness to find inner peace.

Indigo Mystics Spiritual Wellness, located at 121 E. Court St., was founded by co-owners Jennifer Featherston, Sean Eblin and Troy Miller and is dedicated to the knowledge of witchcraft and witchcraft.

“Witchcraft is a practice that respects all the elements and the universe,” Evelyn said.

The shop will open in April 2022 and offer customers mental, physical and emotional healing, providing a safe space for anyone to begin their journey into the spiritual realm.

“There was a little untapped niche here,” Featherston says, “and there were a lot of spiritual stores in Toledo already, so we thought BG would be a really good place.”

Featherston said the store has quickly become a hangout spot for students and locals, selling a variety of affordable items including crystals, candles and other essentials for creating a personal magical space.

Students on BGSU’s campus are not allowed to light candles in their dorms, “so they’re welcome to come here and use this community area,” Evelyn said.

In addition to physical products, they offer a variety of services, including tarot card readings, massages, psychic readings, and classes.

“We do a lot of free events a month,” Evelyn says. “Jenny does healing circles. [Reike] We hold monthly events and invite guest speakers.

Reiki is a form of Japanese energy healing. It can be done in groups, but the shop also offers private sessions for a fee. Monthly group sessions are free, and customers are invited to bring their own yoga mats to relax. Featherston described Reiki as “discharging energy that’s trapped in the body.”

Unlike pressure massage, the practitioner may simply use a hovering hand or a light touch on the shoulder to gauge the client’s energy.

“It’s very relaxing, cleansing and refreshing,” Featherston says. “Your energy shifts and you leave feeling much calmer.”

The store’s inclusiveness adds to its appeal: Witchcraft does not require the practice of any particular religion.

“Religion is involved and we do our best to accommodate everyone who wants to learn,” Featherston said. “We are open and inclusive of all faiths.”

In the future, the co-owners hope to start hosting immersive group experiences, such as foraging and studying local plants under the full moon.

“We’ve met some really great people and we love this community,” Featherson said, which is the best part about starting a business in Bowling Green.
