Beat the monsoon blues with exciting indoor workouts for weight loss

With the onset of monsoon season, heavy rains and wet ground may make outdoor workouts seem like a distant dream. Make the most of the season with these five exciting indoor workout options that are a far cry from your usual gym routine or typical yoga exercises. This monsoon season, try something offbeat and boost your stamina.

HIIT Workouts

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is a dynamic exercise method that alternates between intense exercise with short rest periods or low intensity exercise. It is known to burn calories and improve cardiovascular fitness in a shorter period of time than traditional training. HIIT sessions typically last for 20-30 minutes, making it perfect for fitting into a busy schedule.



Pilates

Pilates aims to improve overall body balance, increase flexibility and strengthen core muscles. This low-impact training technique can benefit people of all fitness levels. The technique can be customized to target specific body parts, such as the legs, back or abdomen. Precise movements and regular breathing techniques are common in Pilates exercises, which promote physical and mental wellbeing. Pilates courses are widely offered at gyms and fitness centers. Trained Pilates instructors teach a variety of exercises on a mat or specialized equipment.

Aerial Yoga
Aerial yoga combines traditional yoga poses with aerial acrobatics using silk fabrics or hammocks suspended from the ceiling. This type of training offers a unique total-body workout as you move through the air, improving your flexibility, balance and core strength. Aerial yoga programs cater to all ability levels, from complete beginners to seasoned practitioners, and offer a welcome change from a traditional floor-based yoga practice. Kickboxing

It features flowing kicks, spins and sweeps set to the rhythm of traditional Brazilian instruments such as the berimbau. Capoeira develops athleticism, flexibility and reflexes, as well as creativity and cultural respect. Partner exercises, music lessons and games (called “jogos”) are common in classes, fostering a lively, supportive environment.
