Balenciaga’s latest haute couture show
of fashion The season is officially over. From Milan’s bustling men’s shows, Haute Couture If you’ve spent a week in Paris and are feeling exhausted from your busy schedule, don’t worry. Balenciaga There is exactly the right solution.
Whether you’re tired of sitting in the front row of these presentations, or you’re simply a digital viewer of these shows, now is the time to pause and recover.
Known for his avant-garde approach to fashion, Demna Gvasalia took a different approach for his latest Balenciaga Haute Couture show: instead of bombarding the audience with the usual sensory overload, this time he focused on a meditative soundtrack.
Guests were encouraged to connect with their inner selves by practicing deep breathing and visualizing feelings of happiness and contentment.
In contrast to Demna’s previous spectacles featuring CGI kittens and puppies and surreal digital landscapes, this show ventured into more introspective territory. Given the designer’s penchant for exploring the darker side of internet culture and post-capitalist themes, it’s not all that surprising that he’d dive into spiritual peace. Apparently wanting you to “just settle” is his latest motto.
In keeping with the haute couture theme, Demna’s latest showcase not only pushed the boundaries of fashion but also embraced the influence of the wellness industry on modern life. Unsettling transformations were at the heart of his AW24 presentation: butterflies, usually associated with tranquility, were rendered into eerie masks, and everyday items such as belts were reimagined as flowing couture gowns.
