Balancing Body Works of Jenkintown was founded in 2019.

The space offers neuromuscular integrative therapy, marma points (basically acupressure), hot stone massage, reflexology, sound healing, energy healing, aromatherapy, Thai massage, and an upcoming weight loss therapy program. Masu.

Owner and certified practitioner Kathryn “Kat” Wolfe, LMT, a Huntingdon Valley native and Abington High School graduate, has been treating clients since 2001.

“My ideal client is someone who believes in this work and is open and accepting. They understand the value of investing in their health and self-care,” Wolf said. “I work with people from firefighters, EMTs, and athletes to pregnant mothers, postpartums, babies, the elderly, cancer survivors, people injured in car accidents, and people who just want to keep their bodies in good shape. Massage, along with a healthy diet and daily physical activity, is the best preventive medicine on the planet.

Before earning her degree in Integrative Body/Mind Therapy at the Center for Human Integration, run by the Medical Mission Sisters, Wolfe trained people with injuries using specific techniques that support chiropractic therapy. trained to help. She is a licensed BASIC (Body And Spirit Integrated Consciously) Neuromuscular Integration Therapist, Massage Her Therapist, and Reflexologist.

She continued to teach and coordinate university degree programs while apprenticing with an Ayurvedic physician for over 10 years.

“The science of Ayurveda is the oldest medical system on earth,” Wolf said. “My roots grew into yoga, meditation, and massage. I was exposed to all kinds of professionals and treatments.”

“Massage is suitable for all shapes and sizes, but the more fatty tissue you have, the harder it is to access the underlying muscles,” Wolf says. “So if you want to improve your golf handicap, cure whiplash, regain range of motion, relieve pain, improve your posture, lose weight and improve your sleep quality, bodywork is the answer. The list of benefits is impressive. Ayurveda recommends a massage or chiropractic treatment once a week. At least a monthly maintenance plan.
