Houston – Nothing beats a crispy bagel with your favorite cream cheese for breakfast. This week in Alison’s Cooking Diary, she shares three cream cheese recipes. The first is a sweet cinnamon and honey recipe. The next two are a lox spread with dill and lemon zest, and a savory recipe with bacon, cheddar, and chives. Whether you like it sweet or savory, the whole family is sure to love these cream cheese recipes.

Bagel and cream cheese board
Cinnamon & Honey:

8 ounces cream cheese (softened)

2 tablespoons of honey
-
1 teaspoon cinnamon
-
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Lox Spread:
-
8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
-
4 ounces lox or smoked salmon
-
Fresh dill
-
Half a lemon peel
Bacon, Cheddar and Chives:
-
8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
-
3-4 slices cooked bacon (chopped)
-
1/2 cup cheddar cheese
-
Fresh chives

Method:

Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat three 8-ounce packages of cream cheese until soft and fluffy.

Divide cream cheese evenly among 3 bowls.

In each bowl, mix together each of the ingredients (cinnamon and honey, lox and bacon, cheddar and chives).

Create a bagel and cream cheese board by placing a toasted bagel on one side of a wooden board. Place 3 cream cheese cubes on the side. Add toppings in the center.
