MUMBAI: The state Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday seized Ayurvedic medicines, raw materials and labels worth Rs 1.4 crore from three locations in Vasai for manufacturing medicines without proper licences. FDA officials said Gaharwal Pharma Products, which has a licence to manufacture Ayurvedic medicines in Haryana, was manufacturing the medicines in Vasai without obtaining a local licence. “The loan licence obtained in Haryana was handed back to the Ayurveda department on May 14 but the medicines were being manufactured in Vasai under the same Haryana licence,” the officials said. tnn
