NEW DELHI: Cosmetics based on Ayurvedic formulas are attracting the attention of visitors to the India International Trade Fair, boosting the popularity of indigenous alternative natural-based products.
Exhibition Hall 12 of Pragati Maidan hosted a special exhibition showcasing a new breed of beauty products that also act as natural remedies.
Charcoal face wash is one of the most popular items among exhibitors as it helps counter the negative effects of Delhi’s smog-laced toxic air. Facial cleansers made from papaya, multani mitti (fuller earth), kadiya, soaps made from medicinal plants and toothpaste with Ayurvedic ingredients are attracting the attention of shoppers.
One of the exhibitors, AIMIL Ayouthveda, showcased a range of personal care products that are free of harsh chemicals such as parabens, silicones, sulfates and petroleum products.
“New cosmetic ranges based on Ayurveda have two benefits. On the one hand, these products enhance beauty without compromising health. On the other hand, the products act as natural supplements and treat skin diseases. The health of the consumer is ensured by curbing the progression of the disease, if any,” said Dr. Sanchit Sharma, Founder and Director, Ayusveda.
“Researchers have conducted thorough studies and these products have a unique integration of herbs and beauty ingredients,” Sharma said.
