Both yoga and meditation challenges track members based on the number of workouts in those…
Before you jump into your daily workout, you need the right surface to support and amplify your moves. That’s where exercise mats come in. It’s no secret that Paolo Sorrentino is deeply obsessed with youth and beauty. That commitment, and many others, is evident in films like “Youth” and “Great Beauty.” As their titles suggest, these films are unrestrained expressions of Italian maximalism. Following 2021’s achingly personal Hand of God, the Neapolitan director filtered the pain and ecstasy of his formative years through the same veil of Fellini-esque blasphemy he had previously cast on his film about Silvio Berlusconi and his fading glory. In A History of Rome, Sorrentino returned to proverbial travesty with another vast parade of bodies, obsessed with abstract ideals rather…
Last summer, Sabra, The leading American hummus producer introduced three new flavors: Barbecue, Buffalo (like chicken wing) and Southwest. Not to be outdone, Fresh Cravings, which is vying for dominance in the retail hummus market, debuted two new flavors of its own later in the year: Tajine Chili Lime and Dill Pickle. Fresh Cravings president Nicole Parker said in a statement that these new additions represent the company’s “commitment to pushing the boundaries of hummus flavor innovation.” But some say the boundaries are being pushed a bit too far. Yotam Ottolenghi, the famous Israeli-born British chef, called flavours like beetroot…

Empire Cuisine, the Shakopee restaurant at the center of the ongoing Feeding Our Future trial, has racked up $25 million in federal food costs in a year and a half, according to an FBI forensic accountant who testified Tuesday. He said he received only $3 million in food expenses. Pauline Rose, a forensic accountant who examined bank records related to the case, described Empire Cuisine as a small storefront in a Shakopee strip mall and testified that the dollar figure was suspicious. “This is significantly less than it should be,” Rose testified. “I would like to see more of that…
A recent study has revealed that altered states of consciousness are far more common among people who practice meditation and mindfulness than previously thought. While many report positive, even transformative, outcomes, a significant minority experience negative effects that range from moderate to severe. The findings were published in the journal Mindfulness.Meditation, mindfulness, yoga, and similar practices have skyrocketed in popularity due to their potential health benefits. However, the experience and effects of these practices, particularly the altered states of consciousness they induce, remain to be determined. Researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital are looking at how common these altered conditions are…
