Florida will implement new guidelines for emergency mental health services starting next week. Commonly referred to as the Baker Act, the law focuses on crisis response services for people with mental illnesses and involuntary treatment in cases of possible medical emergencies. Governor Ron DeSantis recently signed HB 7021 into law. A new study finds that adults who consistently participated in organized sports from a young age experience fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression than those who never participated or who stopped participating. Additionally, people who stopped playing sports reported worse mental health than those who never played sports at all.
