Ever since COVID-19 hit, it has seemed that 90% of what I write is about COVID-19, the antivaccine movement that was turbocharged by the pandemic, and associated quackery, such as repurposed drugs for COVID-19 that don’t work, false claims that COVID-19 vaccines cause sudden death, “turbo cancer,” and all manner of other maladies. Yet, the more “boring” health nonsense is still with us; it’s never gone away. So when I encountered something called “Access Consciousness,” I thought it would be a nice change of pace to discuss this rather odd “healing modality.” Moreover, as Jonathan Howard argues, as horrible as…
A little boy who fell out of bed in the middle of the night explained why he fell: “I guess I got too close to where I got into bed.” It’s the same reason we become spiritually corrupted: we get too close to where we came in. That’s what happened to Peter, and he ended up warming himself by the fire of the enemy. Peter was trying to hide as a disciple. Matthew 26:57–58 says, “So those who arrested Jesus took him to the house of Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered. Peter followed…
Yes, beauty sleep is a real thing. While you snooze, your skin is busy repairing itself and reversing damage from pollutants, UV rays, breakouts, and dehydration. Night creams are the sleeper hits of your skincare routine, and the best ones on the market do their part by encouraging cell turnover and protecting the dermal barrier from moisture loss. This process levels up overnight when your skin is most permeable—and most absorbent. That means bedtime is the best time to slather on those nourishing ingredients.Top night creams picksNight creams are a saturated market—and ingredients lists are long—so we got our hands…

Robert Zimmerman is a science journalist and historian. He has written four books and numerous articles on science, engineering, and space. In the first half of the interview, he talked about the history of space exploration, shared the latest about SpaceX, and the global developments in the space race. Although he acknowledged that the International Space Station (ISS) is disappointing in that it has not helped develop interplanetary spacecraft, he believes that NASA is moving in the right direction to encourage private companies to develop space technology and rockets. He enthused that “there are currently four commercial space stations being…
If you’re over 65 and feeling depressed, you may be deficient in vitamins that are important for older adults, especially vitamin D and B12. NutrientsThe researchers sought to understand how environmental factors, lifestyle and genes influence health. Examining 1,000 blood samples from participants aged 65 to 93, they found that more than half of older adults did not get enough vitamin D. One in four also had a vitamin B12 deficiency. They weren’t entirely surprised: Age-related physiological changes can affect the nutritional needs of older people, which could put them at increased risk of certain micronutrient deficiencies unless they tweak…
