Effective skin care doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg.
Doctors have revealed an anti-aging ingredient that may be more effective than retinol.
Dr. Michael Aziz spoke exclusively to The US Sun about his skincare essentials.
He detailed some of the most effective ingredients in his anti-aging efforts.
He explained that some classic products, vitamins A and C, and retinol are “great for nurturing the skin and maintaining glowing skin.”
But there was a lesser-known ingredient that could be more effective, he said.
“Studies have shown that a peptide called GHK-Cu may provide superior results compared to both retinol and vitamin C,” he explained.
Health experts also warned against overexposing the skin to UV rays.
“Limiting sun exposure is important to maintain youthful skin,” the doctor said.
“UV rays can significantly age your skin, leading to wrinkles, age spots, and an increased risk of skin cancer.”

“Synthesis of vitamin D requires sunlight, but excessive exposure to sunlight can damage DNA,” he said.
Skincare professionals recommended choosing chemical sunscreens as they offer more protection than mineral sunscreens.
“Bemotriginol is effective and is not absorbed through the skin, but it is not FDA-approved in the United States and must be purchased online,” he explained.
Dr. Aziz also analyzed some of the popular beauty trends in the skin care industry.
“Many skin care products are either ineffective or too expensive because the molecules are too large to be absorbed into the skin,” he explained.
He added that products containing alcohol often dry the skin and also contain parabens, which can pose health risks if absorbed.
“It’s best to use natural ingredients such as cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut oil, and vitamins A and C,” he said.

Dr. Aziz also recommended considering red light therapy if you want to “make your skin look younger.”

He also advised those who want to fight the signs of aging to include natural fats such as olive oil, avocado and butter in their diet.
