Liberty Station’s newest festival, “A Wellness-Rooted Day of Movement and Mindfulness,” will be held on Saturday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ingram Plaza (2640 Cushing Road).
There are areas for movement (pilates, yoga, bootcamp classes) and areas for mindfulness (meditation, sound baths, breathwork).
The day-long festival celebrates the health-related services offered in and around Liberty Station and will also feature a vendor booth area with classes, ice baths, contest prizes, a wine and beer garden and two stages for hands-on activities throughout the event.
This open house-like event showcases Liberty Station as one of San Diego’s best wellness spots. Highlights include pilates classes with Club Pilates, ice baths and breathwork with Soul Plunge, breathwork sound bath classes with Guy Douglas by Yoga Six, boot camp classes with FIT Athletic, pickleball tournaments with Volo, sound baths and yin meditation with Riffs Yoga, food trucks, a beer and wine garden, tastings of the latest health products, over 35 vendors, DJ Mancat, giveaways, and more. The event will go ahead rain or shine. There will be no refunds.
“Club Pilates Liberty Station is excited to announce our participation in Anchored in Wellness,” the club said, adding, “We will be offering exclusive Pilates classes at the event as well as a free introductory session for all attendees. We look forward to connecting with the Point Loma community and promoting health and wellness together.”
YogaSixPointe Loma also has something special planned. “We’ll be hosting a kickoff yoga class for the Anchorage Inn Wellness Festival at Liberty Station,” the company says. “Anyone who attends the 9 a.m. yoga class and isn’t already a YogaSixPointe Loma member will receive one month of yoga free. Join Tamara for some yoga and enjoy the 35+ vendors who will be joining us at the event.”
Point Loma Sports Club will be hosting a workshop at the event called “Pathways to Better Health: Understanding Nervous System Regulation.” The workshop will be led by trainer Laura Gordon, who has a PhD in human performance psychology and extensive experience helping clients achieve optimal mental and physical performance through powerful practices that target the nervous system. The workshop will take place at 10 a.m. at the event, which will be held just outside Point Loma Sports Club.
Rachel Frank, events and social media manager for Liberty Station, spoke about what guests can expect: “San Diego is a health-focused community, and Liberty Station has some great health-related businesses,” she said. “We’ll also have a beer garden and we’ll have non-alcoholic options.”
Frank added, “We will have an education tent set up with various workshops throughout the day on topics like nutrition, the mind-body connection, breathwork and more. We will also have over 40 vendors. It will be a little mini-retreat for everyone with a variety of classes, ice baths and education. Come and enjoy a day of wellness at Liberty Station.”
