The Prime Minister penned the note during his return flight from Kanniyakumari to Delhi on June 1. The Prime Minister had completed 45 hours of meditation at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanniyakumari, where Swami Vivekananda had envisaged the image of ‘Bharat Mata’.
“Swami Vivekananda said in 1897 that the next 50 years must be dedicated to the nation. Exactly 50 years after this call, India achieved independence in 1947. Today, we have the same golden opportunity. Let us dedicate the next 25 years to the nation. Our efforts will lay a strong foundation for the next generation and the next century and take India to new heights,” he wrote.

In a note titled “New Sankalp from Sadhana,” the prime minister said that before his visit to Kanniyakumari, he had addressed his final rally for the 2024 Indian Lok Sabha elections in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. But as he entered a meditative state, he said, “the heated political debates, the attacks and counter-attacks, the accusations and comments that accompany elections… all vanished into thin air. A sense of isolation arose within me.” “In this sense of isolation, peace and tranquility, my mind was constantly thinking about India’s bright future,” Modi wrote.
The Prime Minister also said that empowering 250 million people out of poverty in just 10 years is “unprecedented.” “India’s progress and development today is not only a momentous occasion for India alone, but also a historic one for all our partner countries across the world. Since the success of the G20, the world has increasingly envisaged a bigger role for India,” he said.

We need to dream new things, turn them into reality and start living those dreams. India’s development must be seen in a global context. To do this, it is imperative that we understand India’s internal capabilities…To make our country an ‘Independent Nation’, excellence must be our guiding principle,” PM Modi said.
About Kanniyakumari, he said the place symbolizes the unity of the country as various rivers meet the sea and the sea meets at Kanniyakumari. Referring to the huge statue of Tamil poet and saint Thiruvalluvar at the place, he said his work Thirukkural was “one of the treasures of the beautiful Tamil language”.
He spoke at length about the lessons that the country, the cradle of ancient ideas, has left for the world, guided by the spirit of ‘this is not mine.’He said just as other countries that gained independence after India took inspiration from India’s freedom movement, India was able to help developed countries during the COVID-19 pandemic.
