Kochi: It seems even doctors are not immune to the startup fever that is gripping Kerala. A casual discussion in her WhatsApp group with Ayurvedic medical college graduates led to the launch of a startup company focused on women’s health and infertility.
Ayufy, a startup co-founded by Dr. Satheesh Kumar P, Dr. Noushad Subair, Dr. Varun Natarajan, and Dr. Kiran C Babu under parent company Medistacks Healthcare Ltd, recently launched its mobile app on App Store and Play Store . The startup has 50 Ayurvedic doctors and claims to be India’s first Ayurvedic startup dedicated to solving gynecological problems for women of all ages.
Ayufy takes a holistic approach by integrating clinical psychology, yoga, and naturopathic food services to address the emotional stress commonly associated with gynecological and infertility treatments. The latest investigative techniques and research-oriented personalized treatments are delivered through the platform. The startup also offers inpatient treatment options through accredited centers.
Patients can register through www.ayufy.com or the Ayufy mobile app and have access to experienced gynecology and infertility specialists across India, as well as language options to accommodate diverse preferences.
“What led to the idea for our startup was a discussion held on promoting Ayurveda in an alumni group of Santhigiri Ayurveda University, Palkad. Doctors from different parts of India and abroad participated in the group. We supported the idea because we were looking for a full-fledged team to introduce treatments and medicines to patients.The current directors led the discussions and together with 50 doctors, we founded the company.” Dr. Satheesh Kumar P, author of “Effective Ayurvedic Management of Diseases”, told Onmanorama.
“Ayufy offers a simple yet powerful online consultation solution for instant Ayurvedic health support, especially for PCOS, stress management, menstrual health issues, infertility, etc.,” he said.
Ayufy’s service was recently launched in Kochi by SD Shibulal, co-founder and former CEO of Infosys.
The physician entrepreneurs decided to start their businesses after conducting market research through social media and medical opinion research through the modern physician and Ayurvedic physician communities. The company’s current target group is patients outside the state of Kerala within India. There are plans to expand to the Gulf countries and then Europe.
Ayufi currently has three designated inpatient centers in Kerala, and discussions are underway to establish a network of outpatient and inpatient specialty centers around major cities in India as a first step.
Ayufi is also looking to leverage the potential of Kerala as a wellness tourism hub. “Ayufy offers Ayurvedic medical tourism packages with treatments to explore the beauty of Kerala. Also, one of Ayufy’s big dreams is to create a global destination that offers authentic Ayurvedic treatments and wellness. The idea is to set up an Ayurveda center in Kerala,” said Dr Satheesh Kumar. He said he is looking for suitable partners to invest in and expand the company.
