Alternative and complementary healing practices that change the face of holistic health
Medicine and healing are as old to human civilization as disease and death themselves. Over the years, humans have evolved to discover, create, research, and disseminate natural medicine and healing practices that leverage our immediate environment to combat life’s threats and defeat disease. Now, in the aftermath of the pandemic, people around the world are turning to alternative prevention practices in addition to traditional measures to protect themselves from the virus. While this integrative approach to preventive care has received much attention, the use of integrative medicine and healing practices to treat mild and severe illnesses has steadily grown in popularity over the past few years.
According to Complementary and Alternative Medicine Market Report 2027, the global market size for complementary and alternative medicine reached $69.2 billion in 2019 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 19.9% during the forecast period 2020-2027. Grand View Research. Popular and accepted alternative medicine and practices range from well-known fields such as yoga, meditation, acupuncture, and naturopathy to the lesser-known but traditionally effective Reiki, music therapy, and traditional medicine. We offer a wide range of treatments, including traditional Chinese therapy, Western herbal medicine, and reflexology. .

Below is a list of healing practices that can go a long way in helping people around the world face and accept the new normal in the face of a global pandemic.
1. Antioxidant therapy: It has steadily gained wide popularity over the last decade, mainly due to its healthy and glowing skin properties. However, its application range is not limited to the skin. Antioxidant therapy acts on cells to reduce free radicals and has been shown to be effective in preventing and curing heart disease and cancer.
2. Energy healing: Another alternative and highly effective traditional healing method is energy balance therapy, which has received widespread attention. This method works on physical, emotional and spiritual health by restoring energy balance throughout the body. Energy healing is one of the most holistic health techniques and is primarily used for preventive and general health, as well as for the treatment of serious illnesses, especially mental illnesses.
3. Lomi Lomi Massage: Lomilomi, a traditional Hawaiian medical technique, uses massage techniques, nut oils, prayer, breathing, and dance elements to heal the body and restore energy and balance.
4. Nutrition and diet as treatment: Therapies such as the alkaline diet and herbal nutritious juice diet are gaining medicinal value and importance in both preventive and regenerative health. From consuming natural, fresh fruits and vegetables to eating vegan and raw foods, there are a variety of treatments that are prescribed to help you recover faster or maintain long-term health when combined with traditional Western medicine. There is a form of diet.
5. Panchakarma in Ayurveda: Ayurvedic Panchakarma therapy, an ancient Indian healing and wellness technique, consists of premixes of herbs best suited for specific conditions and utilizes the body’s five fundamental activities to achieve health. Based on 5 Actions. These include vamanam (vomiting), virechanam (purification), nirham (colon enema), anuvasan (oil enema), and nasuyam (inhalation of medicated oils). Due to its powerful sedative, healing, and rejuvenating effects, its use in combination with yoga to support health is gaining attention around the world. Abhyanga – herbal oil massage, Shirodhara – continuous administration of warm oil on the forehead designed to remove toxins and reduce mental stress, Shilo Vasti – herbal oil poured on the scalp and applied to the scalp, etc. combined with specialized therapies. Soaking before a warm, relaxing head bath is some of the most popular and effective therapies.
6. Music therapy: Music has been used since ancient times as a tool to heal, soothe, and promote an overall sense of well-being. But these days, music based on specific frequencies, such as wholetones and raga therapy, has become increasingly popular due to its ability to relieve anxiety and aid in restful sleep by reducing overall stress. .
7. Yoga and Ayurveda: Yoga and Ayurveda are among the oldest and most popular forms of Eastern healing and health practices that originated in India and offer numerous healing practices for both regenerative and preventive health. From basic yogic kriyas, specialized asanas, highly advanced breathing techniques called pranayama, and meditation techniques to Ayurvedic diets and massage therapy, yoga and Ayurveda are accepted and practiced around the world. Masu.
8. Acupressure/Acupuncture: Acupressure and acupuncture are ancient Chinese traditional medicines that are widely accepted and trusted methods for long-term healing of conditions ranging from mild to chronic. From relieving pain and promoting an overall sense of well-being to treating asthma and chronic digestive/neurological conditions, these traditional Chinese healing techniques are easy to access and utilize.

Expanding

Although rapidly growing, the use of alternative and complementary Eastern medicine is still far from mainstream in terms of its use as a useful healing tool alongside traditional Western medicine. With the pandemic and increased focus on preventive and regenerative medicine, it is time for us to adopt a holistic approach to health and wellness to create long-term overall well-being.
