NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to visit Kanyakumari for meditation soon after the intense election campaign ends. The prime minister is expected to spend at least three days there before leaving for Kanyakumari on June 1.
PM Modi will visit Kanyakumari and meditate day and night at the rock monument, the same place where Swami Vivekananda meditated.
Notably, Kanyakumari is where Swami Vivekananda had his vision of Bharat Mata. This rock had a major impact on Swami Vivekananda’s life. People believe that just as Sarnath holds a special place in the life of Gautam Buddha, this rock holds a similar place in Swami Vivekananda’s life. It was here that he meditated for three days after his wanderings across the country and achieved his vision of an evolved India.
Meditating at the same place demonstrates Prime Minister Modi’s determination to actualise Swami’s vision of ‘Vikshit Bharat’.
Goddess Parvati was also meditating on one leg at the same place while waiting for Lord Shiva.
In particular, Prime Minister Modi is known to embark on a spiritual journey at the end of an election campaign.
In 2019, he visited Kedarnath.
PM Modi had visited Uttarakhand in 2019 (before the Lok Sabha election results were announced) and meditated in the cave. The cave, located at an altitude of 11,700 feet in the Himalayas, gained fame after Modi spent a night meditating there after wrapping up a high-decibel campaign. IANS
