Snowy glaciers nestled among the towering Himalayan peaks create an atmosphere of mystery and the urge to immerse yourself. Tourists may now be flocking to the Himalayan terrain in search of vacation and adventure, but its dizzying heights are partly due to its hostile terrain. It remains off-limits to many for reasons beyond the realm of logic.
These glacial tracks, where sheets of snow on the mountain surface hide caves and enclosures, are inhabited by men and women who have abandoned the world in search of truth. One such person was Babaji (also known as Babaji Nagraji), the revered guru of Kriya Yoga. It is a branch of yoga that draws on the “kundalini” or life energy of all beings, winding like a snake through the mystical channels of the spine and merging with the Supreme Being, said to be located at the top of the head. Find out. Head, location of the fontanel that remains soft in newborns.
What makes Babaji mysterious is his presence in the astral body. It is said that he was born in the distant past and has served as a teacher to Adi Shankara and even Jesus. To this day, there are many people who vouch for his existence and actor Rajinikanth is one of them. His life story is mentioned in the spiritual bestseller Autobiography of a Yogi, in which author Yogananda Paramahamsa recalls his association with Babaji and the many people he trained.
But Sri M., founder of the Satsang Foundation, says that Babaji is a divine being, the ultimate guru of Kriya Yoga, and that everything else, including that he is from southern India and that he is in the astral body, is simply I believe that it is a “story”. . As stated in the book he wrote, his respect for Babaji arose naturally from his experiences, which led him to take up Kriya Yoga as a spiritual path. , I started practicing it. “Babaji is the Guru of the Parampara, or Nath Sampradaya, to which I belong,” says Shri M.
Shri M recently inaugurated a shrine to Babaji at Nooranad near Kollam in Kerala. “The place where the shrine is built was the resting place (samadhi sthal) of the siddha or enlightened soul,” he says.
The Satsang Foundation has established a shrine on 3.5 acres of land as part of the ashram. “This will be the only place in Kerala where I will teach Kriya Yoga to seekers,” Sri M said and added. “This is also on the way to Sabarimala, another place for tapas and sadhana named after the great yogi named Ayyappa.”
The Satsang Foundation plans to establish a school for yoga and Vedic studies at the ashram in Nooranad. It will be a gathering place for all those who wish to pour their soul energy towards self-actualization.
Shrines remind each soul of its immense potential to become one with its Supreme Source.
