Recently, the 8th Anhui Province Traditional Chinese Medicine Health and Wellness and Elderly Care Development Summit Forum and Expo was held in Hefei. During the event, a plaque awarding ceremony for the Yangtze River Delta Health and Wellness Base was held, and Qiankou Health and Wellness Town, Huizhou District, Huangshan City, was awarded the title of “2023 Anhui Province Yangtze River Delta Health and Wellness Base”.
Qiankou Health and Wellness Town is located on the southern slope of Huangshan Scenic Area. It is an important hub for high-speed rail and expressways, and is also a tourism logistics center. It is a cultural tourism town with a thousand-year history, covering an area of 38.5 square kilometers and a population of 14,000. Historically, it is an important commercial and cultural center of Huizhou and one of the important birthplaces of Xin’an medicine. In recent years, Qiankou Town has focused on the goal of becoming a “thousand-year health and wellness ancient city”, focusing on project construction, talent training, environmental optimization, and deepening the “health and wellness +” development model, and continuously strengthening the brand of Qiankou as a health and wellness destination in the Huangshan region. The town has been successively awarded titles such as “provincial-level characteristic town”, “the first batch of provincial-level health towns”, and “provincial-level health and wellness service industry model park”.
Qiankou Town will continue to focus on the theme of health and wellness, focus on six key industries, and continuously enrich the industrial landscape. The town plans to develop a health and wellness street centered on traditional Chinese medicine, a Xin’an medical cuisine center, and regularly invite well-known medical experts from Xin’an to provide consultation and guidance. In addition, it will actively organize unique events such as the medicine paste festival, the dean’s forum, and the Qiankou health and wellness lecture, to further enhance the brand of Qiankou health and wellness town. These efforts aim to contribute to the construction of Dahuangshan as a world-class leisure, vacation and health tourism destination.
