Juniper Reserve

Nestled amongst 1,000 year old juniper forests on 640 beautiful acres in the vast high desert of central Oregon. Juniper Reserve is a travel-worthy retreat with outstanding spa, fitness, meditation and wellness services (not to mention the oversized outdoor pool with hot tub and barrel sauna, with stunning views of the petrified “ghost forest” and the iconic Three Sisters mountain range).

In addition to ongoing classes and events, the resort also offers curated wellness retreat weekends at least once a season that combine a winning mix of fitness and meditation classes, hands-on workshops, and fun outdoor adventures. Summer itineraries include yoga classes, plant walks and medicine-making workshops, hikes at beautiful Smith Rock, and moonlight paddle tours on Cascade Lakes. In the winter, you can take part in sound baths, cacao and kava intention-setting rituals in luxurious tepees, and evening stargazing and snowshoeing sessions, concluding with a roaring bonfire (with plenty of time to soak up the resort’s tranquility, of course).

While many guests come to Juniper to rejuvenate and regain balance, they also enjoy other first-class amenities, including a world-class golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tom Fazio, pickleball courts and a variety of dining options ranging from hike-ready casual dining to creative tasting menus showcasing the bounty of the Pacific Northwest.

Guests will don headlamps and explore the resort’s recently discovered ancient lava caves.

And don’t miss the special events, tours and classes that take place in the ancient lava caves, formed by rivers of molten lava long ago and undiscovered until recently. The resort offers a variety of ways to experience the vast caverns, from kid-friendly flashlight tours to concerts and a cappella performances, wine dinners, marriage proposals, meditation and other wellness classes.

dining

There are several places in the hotel where you can enjoy food and drinks. Coyote Lounge This is the spot to enjoy morning coffee and pastries, afternoon tea, wine and tapas. Trailhead Grill It’s perfect for a leisurely breakfast or enjoying a sandwich or grain bowl for lunch or dinner.

However, the seasonal tasting menu experience Keya That’s where the magic is: tribal omakase, an innovative and evolving concept that launched earlier this year. An ambitious pop-up project, tribal omakase celebrates food from before mass production and colonisation, showcasing creative, beautifully presented dishes inspired by indigenous products (there’s no sugar, beef, chicken or pork on the beautifully presented plates).

With Food & Beverage Director Jason Ray and Executive Chef Ryan Eisart at the helm, and supported by a talented team of pastry chefs, sommeliers and bartenders, the restaurant delivers a delicious dining experience that’s thoughtful, sophisticated and utterly unique. And in a ski town known more for burgers and beer than a wealth of fine dining options, KÉYA is worthy of a visit for out-of-town visitors and Bend locals alike. (Dinner is served Fridays and Saturdays only, and reservations are required for the 20-seat restaurant.)

The resort offers many family-friendly activities, including horse riding.
