Where lifestyle and luxury meet.

Equinox Hotel New York

New Yorkers know how to endure the cold. 5 inches of snow? The wind is 20 mph? You meet this challenge by shrugging your shoulders, grimacing, and putting on more layers. Here, life keeps moving, regardless of the weather. I tried to remember this as I stood in front of the cryotherapy chamber at the Forbes Travel Guide four-star The Spa by Equinox Hotel, but after spending three minutes in a chamber at minus 150 degrees… Then I noticed that Manhattan’s mask of flame was slipping off.

You’ll feel like a boxer in the ring as you shed your gray hooded robe and spa attendants hand you equipment including champion heated socks, slippers, a fleece headband and gloves. We were asked to choose a song to play over a speaker in a closed room, and we realized that the last person to do so had chosen “Kokomo” by the Beach Boys. Wisely, I choose “Off to the Races” by Lana Del Rey. Curious and time standing still, when asked what the most popular selections are, guests usually choose their favorite hype song, but some surprisingly choose no music. I learned that.

My “valet” remained in the room and reassured me that the cryotherapy room door remained unlocked. As I enter the room, I am greeted by a rush of frigid air, a personal polar vortex. I stand frozen in place in the center of the room. For the next three minutes, I scream, curse, and sing, but my willpower is drawn to countless memories of waiting outside for a restaurant table in the freezing rain, and walking across the block through half-melted snow. I was forged by the thoughts I had walked all along. ,I’ll win. Time is up. I emerge from the tundra victorious.

According to the Global Wellness Institute, cryotherapy has become increasingly popular as a wellness treatment in recent years. In addition to a massive release of endorphins, cryotherapy promises muscle recovery from post-workout muscle soreness (like a giant ice pack) and improved sleep. However, if your dream of getting a good night’s sleep has nothing to do with the cold, don’t worry. The 4-star Equinox Hotel New York has you covered.

The words “well-being” and “lifestyle” are thrown around a lot, and at this Manhattan wonder, wellness is built into every aspect of the property. That’s no surprise considering the brand behind the hotel is largely responsible for launching the modern luxury gym concept.

The Equinox Hudson Yards Gym connects seamlessly to The Spa by Equinox Hotel, a haven for personal transformation. Like fitness centers, spas are all about getting results. Your individual goals determine the structure of your treatment menu, offering clear options such as beauty, healing, heat therapy, inner body work, and sleep improvement.

You can choose your own adventure by choosing a service from each category. Let’s say you want to replenish collagen quickly. Start with his 30-minute session in the touchless and detoxifying Gharieni MLX i3Dome. Next up was the Morpheus8 Microneedle Facial. Finally, administer the NutriCleanse drip (a powerful mixture of vitamin C, glutathione, and vitamin B12). While it may sound scarier than a traditional Swedish massage, this is not your typical spa service. The Spa by Equinox Hotels is far from your typical hotel sanctuary. Results take precedence over relaxation here.

Luckily, this cutting-edge wellness hotel focuses on relaxation in its 212 guest rooms. Many hotels promise quiet bedtime, but few take this as seriously as Equinox Hotel New York. By design, the accommodation incorporates the necessary elements for proper rest. The hotel’s motto, “Dark, Quiet, Cool” is not just a slogan, but the result of scientific research into the optimal sleeping environment. Thanks to the thoughtful design, there are no annoying flashing lights in the room. Industrial-strength blackout curtains and motion-detecting sensors ensure complete darkness. Strongly insulated floors and walls keep the room free from outside noise. This is an impressive feat in a notoriously noisy city. The breathable fibers of the bedding regulate body temperature. As anyone who sleeps in the heat knows, body temperature is an important factor in getting a good night’s sleep.

Whole health is celebrated here, including sleep.

Hudson Yards Hotel stands out for its careful consideration of all aspects of wellness. No detail was overlooked when creating the guest experience. Further evidence includes a room bar stocked with supplements, a gut health room service menu (which includes dishes such as turmeric-infused kimchi scramble and mango matcha bowl), and a designated Grown Alchemist cleanser for day and night (with a soothing chamomile in the evening, Pepper and Tangerine tastes like tea, but it’s in the body wash), or a dedicated laundry bag just for gym clothes.

Equinox Hotel New York is imbued with the energy of change, a testament to the tremendous effort put into creating spaces where guests can reach their full potential. This facility believes in the power of each guest, and that feeling is contagious. Why not roll out your complimentary yoga mat and try an evening meditation or cryotherapy session? Don’t let a little cold stop you.
