For over 40 years, Bhante Sujata has traveled the world teaching the lessons he learned at a local temple in Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. However, his path to enlightenment teachings was not as simple as his philosophy of life.

At her first meditation class, held in the basement of a Catholic church in Chicago, Bhante Sujata was nervous and prayed that no one would come. Three people attended the lesson, which opened up a world of enlightenment teachings to the Buddhist monk. More than 30 years later, Bhante His Sujata travels the world 200 days a year, teaching the path of the Buddha and the healing acts of self-love.
“I don’t have any big plans, but I want to serve people as much as I can. That’s why I started traveling and teaching. I think life is so beautiful, so I spread that message.” said Bhante Sujata.
In addition to traveling and spreading the message, Bhante Sujata does two things: The Blue Lotus Temple in Woodstock, Illinois, and the Sanatha Swaya Temple in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
