Spencer Matthews has revealed that the way he eats has changed since taking part in the BBC’s spiritual hiking show Pilgrimage.

The former Made in Chelsea star, 55, revealed how he learned about fasting during the program and now incorporates the practice into his daily life.

The Pilgrimage sees a group of notable people from different faiths, faiths, and backgrounds strap on their hiking boots and set out on a medieval path.

Discussing his highlights after joining the show, Spencer confessed that he learned all about fasting through Sonali Shah during his time on the show, admitting, “Since filming, the way I eat has changed.”

He explained: “Through this show, I have made some lasting friendships. I learned about fasting through Sonali Shah. I fasted for 24 hours during filming to show solidarity with Jainism, an ancient religion. .

Spencer Matthews, 35, revealed during an appearance on BBC’s spiritual hiking show Pilgrid that he learned about fasting and “changed the way I eat” after becoming concerned about his recent weight loss.

“I started learning a lot about fasting, which led me to reading books about fasting and breathing, which led to my interest in Wim Hof ​​and James Nester, and before I knew it I was reading books about spirituality. became.

“I feel like my thinking expanded a lot on that pilgrimage, and I still fast. I’ve been fasting every day since the last week of the pilgrimage. So I took that with me. .”

He then added that throughout this whole experience, his newfound love for fasting caused the biggest changes in his life.

“I want to go back to fasting. The way I eat has changed since filming.”

Spencer recently sparked concern from fans that he looked too thin, with some even asking why he was “punishing” himself.

However, the star claimed that his recent pilgrimage has made him more conscious of his health and wellbeing.

He said, “This whole experience has made me feel even happier to be alive, if you know what I mean.” I’m very conscious about health and wellness now. I do – I’ve been doing that for a while – but I’m especially conscious of certain things. ”

This comes after Spencer hit back at claims that he looked “sick” and “too skinny” after being flooded with comments about his appearance.

Spencer has recently sparked concern from fans that he looks too thin these days, with some wondering why he was “punishing” himself when he hit back at the comments in a written statement on Tuesday.

The star, who is currently training for an endurance run, showed off his ripped physique in a video earlier this week, sparking concern from fans.

The TV star took to Instagram on Tuesday to tell her followers that she is in the best shape of her life and that she should stop commenting on other people’s looks.

He writes: “Every day on this platform, women write me letters worried about my appearance. They say I think too much and look sick…some say I’m When I ask why I’m “punishing my body,” most people say, “I hope it’s okay??”

“This is just a quick note to let you know that your concerns are misplaced and the way you’re communicating them is unhealthy. I’m feeling great, and most of all, I’m really happy.

“In fact, I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been. I enjoy a disciplined life, am training for a world record endurance run, and hope to raise a lot of money for people who need it. thinking about.

Spencer said she never received messages worrying about her appearance, despite being “overweight” and a “problem drinker” during her time on Made in Chelsea.

She added, “Don’t mistake me for pushing myself physically as being unhealthy…it’s not. It’s exciting and, in my case, it makes me feel alive and full of purpose.” Masu.

“When I was a big problem drinker – overweight and extremely unhealthy – I never once received a ‘concern’ message. I wouldn’t have wanted that then, and I certainly don’t want that now.
