A skincare enthusiast shares the techniques she mastered in her 40s that helped her achieve wrinkle-free skin.
She revealed that she loves a $24 anti-aging product that keeps fine lines at bay.
Reddit user Nakedonmygoat shared this beauty tip in a post.
“I didn’t get into facial oils until I was in my 40s, and it all started with an argan oil sample I got in a subscription box,” she said.
“I had some dry areas on my face that just wouldn’t go away, but after applying the oil, they cleared up immediately.”
She quickly noticed that facial oils were all the rage and did some research to find a high-quality, yet affordable option, before settling on Shea Terra Organics 100% Pure Egyptian Pomegranate Extra Virgin Oil, $24.
“I started looking around and found Shea Terra Organic to be affordable and have a great variety,” she says.
“I’m happy with the price and the product line. I’m currently loving the pomegranate oil.”
She credits her skin condition to the skincare brand and can attest to its effectiveness.
“I’m 57 and I don’t have any fine lines, which I think has something to do with the oils in my face,” she said.

However, one pitfall is that I realized it had to be limited to use on the skin only.
“But you can’t use oil on your hair, it’s just not the right texture,” she said.
“Once I bought a hair treatment oil from a subscription box and tried it, but it was a complete disaster.
“When I confided this to a colleague, who was once a hairdresser, she had to stifle a laugh.
“She knew that oil didn’t suit my hair at all.”
But everyone’s hair is different, so her dilemma is different too.
“We were close enough as work colleagues that she confided in me about it after the laughing stopped, and although I sometimes go to her for advice, the hair oil thing was one of the things I should have asked her about first,” she added.
Others agreed that at first they didn’t think the facial oil was worth the hype, but then changed their minds.
“Haha I only think about my face. If you’d told me 10 years ago I’d be putting oil on my face I would have called you crazy,” one commenter said.
Another respondent revealed that she loves using pure pressed oils to moisturise her hair.
“If you would have told me 10 years ago, in my 40s, that I’d be applying oil directly to my hair, I would have laughed,” they say.
“But now it’s become an essential. By the way, my hair is thin but curly, and as I’ve gotten older it’s gotten coarser and coarser.”
