KARACHI: Spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra sect, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, left from Karachi airport on Saturday after completing a visit that lasted several weeks.
Saifuddin was seen off by Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and he thanked them for their love and sincerity.
“I leave Pakistan with your love and sincerity,” the spiritual leader said. He said he would always remember the love he received from everyone on his arrival and on his departure from Pakistan.
Bohra spiritual leader appeals to President Zardari
Saifuddin met President Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House in Karachi on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, President Zardari lauded the contributions of the Bohra community and said the community plays a vital role in the socio-economic development of Pakistan.
The President said the community is actively participating in Pakistan’s economy and business sector.
President Zardari said the contribution of the Bohra community in education, healthcare and other sectors was also commendable and he appreciated Saifuddin’s contribution to Pakistan in the field of social welfare.
The Bohra spiritual leader arrived in Karachi on July 5 following an invitation from the Pakistani government and the local Dawoodi Bohra community to deliver a series of sermons at the “Ashara Mubaraka” rally.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi also attended the religious event on July 14.
