The Gautam Buddha Nagar administration, following directions from Uttarakhand authorities, has banned Divya Pharmacy and Patanjali Ayurveda Limited from selling 14 Ayurvedic medicines.

Noida: of Gautam Buddha Nagar Administration The Supreme Court has banned the sale of 14 Ayurvedic medicines manufactured by Divya Pharmacy and Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd. The Supreme Court has directed Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd, founded by yoga guru Baba Ramdev, to file an affidavit on July 9.
The affidavit will have to state whether advertisements have been withdrawn for 14 products whose manufacturing licences were initially suspended but later reinstated.
Earlier, on April 15, the Uttarakhand state licensing authority had suspended manufacturing licences of 14 products of Patanjali Ayurved and Divya Pharmacy Ltd. Following this, the district Ayurveda Unani officer of Gautam Buddha Nagar issued orders banning the products.
Officials said the step was in accordance with orders from Uttarakhand’s state drug licensing authority, Ayurvedic and Unani services. The district information office confirmed that it had notified all doctors and shops in the district to immediately stop selling the 14 products on the list.

Dr Dharmendra Kumar Khem, District Ayurveda and Unani Officer, Gautam Buddha Nagar, said, “As per the orders of the State Drug Licensing Authority, Ayurveda and Unani Services, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, the manufacturing licences of Divya Pharmacy and Patanjali Ayurveda Limited of 14 medicines in the attached list have been cancelled. Pursuant to the above orders, we hereby inform all medicine dealers/pharmaceutical shops operating in the district that sale of medicines mentioned in the attached list will be banned with immediate effect. If anyone is found buying or selling the above mentioned medicines, action will be taken as per rules.”
