A 42-year-old woman has revealed the nine beauty habits she practices to maintain her youthful appearance.
Over-the-counter products and effective treatments are part of her routine, but the “best” of all her tips is priceless.
She took to the comments section of Reddit’s beauty forum, which has over 928,000 members, to share her tips for women over 40.
Beauty Basics
The woman listed all the things that have worked wonders for her “tricky combination, sensitive, acne-prone skin.”
“If you can afford it, get a chemical peel once or twice a year,” she writes under the handle Pompeia-misandr.
“Understand what your skin likes, create a routine around that, and stick to it.
“Wear sunscreen. Wear sunglasses. Put off crow’s feet and cataract surgery as long as possible.”
“Moisturize more than you think you need.”
She warned that it’s important not to forget your neck when applying skin care products.
“No matter how good your face is, if your neck is saggy and wrinkly, it will give away your age,” she says.

“Skin care from forehead to nipples.”
“Consider purchasing an LED red light mask for home use and using it consistently,” she added.
The woman admitted that she thought LED therapy was a “quick tactic” until she read a study suggesting it could be effective against acne.
According to Medical News Today , red light therapy affects sebum production and reduces inflammation while improving overall skin health.
It may also help heal wounds, promote collagen production, and reduce wrinkles.
The beauty enthusiast revealed that she has revamped her makeup routine as she has gotten older.
“Mixing your foundation with a bit of a creamy moisturizer or polyglutamic acid serum will keep your face hydrated all day and give your base a radiant, healthy finish,” she says.
“As I’ve gotten older, cream blush has become my go-to. [I don’t know] I don’t know if this applies to everyone, but I can’t live without a cream blush.”
The final tip on her list surprisingly doesn’t require budgeting for expensive products or treatments.
“Confidence is the greatest weapon in your beauty arsenal,” she says.
