First Universalist Church of Auburn will present Stories of the Spiritual Journey at noon Sunday, July 21, in the sacristy at 169 Pleasant Street.
The Adult Religious Exploration Committee will host a talk by Luke Lunt, “Refusing to Be Discouraged: A Journey to the Mexican States of Tabasco and Chiapas.”
Through photos and stories, Lunt reminisces about his recent trip to see the colossal 3,000-year-old Olmec head in Villahermosa, a trip that was both outwardly and inwardly life-changing for what Lunt experienced and what he did not experience, according to a church news release.
The Adult Religious Education lecture series “Trekking and Sojourning” provides a space for Unitarian Universalists to talk about traveling. The name invites you to focus solely on travel as a secular experience (trekking), to give your excursion a more spiritual dimension (sojourning), or to share a mix of both. For more information, please email Adult Religious Education Chair Charles Nero at cnero@bates.edu.
