Join Brooklyn’s oldest farmhouse for a celebration of Haitian culture and Voodoo at the 6th Annual Minocan Festival this weekend. Held at the Wyckoff House Museum, the festival features music, dance, workshops, and more, along with a ceremony overseen by Haitian songstress and Voodoo priestess Silène Dantor.
The festival will take place on the museum grounds, located at 5816 Clarendon Road in East Flatbush, on Saturday, July 13, starting at 4 p.m. Free workshops and hands-on activities will focus on Haitian traditions and spirit, and snacks, beverages and crafts will also be available for purchase. The outdoor event will conclude with performers and spiritual leaders participating in a ceremony titled “Ann Tounnen Nan Matris” (Return to the Womb), beginning at 6 p.m.
