By incorporating these Ayurvedic strategies, you can effectively manage your body’s heat response and stay cool and hydrated during a heatwave.

Our bodies are susceptible to extreme heat and sudden changes in weather. The heat can be particularly hard in the summer, but Ayurveda has some natural ways to keep the body cool and hydrated. When it’s hot, the pitta component in the body increases, and most parts of the body become water and fire.

Here are some in-depth Ayurvedic tips to stay cool even in the sweltering heat.

  1. Herbal tea water: One of the easiest and most effective ways to stay hydrated and cool is herbal water. Cooling herbs like mint, fennel and coriander seeds give it a refreshing taste and aid digestion.
  2. Coconut water Coconut water is a natural electrolyte-rich drink that is perfect for keeping you hydrated and maintaining fluid balance during the heatwaves. Drinking coconut water regularly can help you beat the heat by providing instant hydration and energy.
  3. standard postage: It’s wise to sip water little by little throughout the day rather than drinking large amounts all at once, but small sips are better. This will ensure you stay hydrated and your body will be able to cope with the heat more effectively. Keeping a water bottle close by and sipping frequently will help prevent dehydration and keep you refreshed.
  4. Pitta-calming foods: Eat more sweet, bitter and astringent foods, which help balance the heat-controlling pitta dosha in the body. Avoid spicy, salty and sour foods, and include sweet fruits, green leafy vegetables and cooling herbs in your daily diet.
  5. Cooling Spices: Cooling spices such as fennel, coriander and cardamom help balance body temperature and improve digestion. Fennel and coriander seeds can be used in cooking or added to water, while cardamom can be used in desserts and teas.
  6. Dress lightly: Lightweight clothing increases circulation and reduces heat build-up, and light colors reflect sunlight and help regulate body temperature.
  7. oil massage: Self-massage with oils such as coconut or sandalwood is deeply cooling, calming and nourishing to the skin. Regular oil massages can help maintain skin health and relax you.
  8. Stay indoors during extreme heat: We recommend staying indoors. If you must go outside, wear a hat and apply a natural sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Staying indoors in good conditions will help prevent heat stroke and other heat-related problems.

By incorporating these Ayurvedic strategies, you can effectively manage your body’s heat response and stay cool and hydrated during a heatwave.
