The supply of inexpensive hardware has helped one woman tame the signs of ageing on her face.
She said this strange beauty routine has permanently erased the vertical lines between her eyebrows.
She shared the hack on Reddit’s 30 Plus Skincare forum, which has about 2 million members.
Face Fixer
In response to a user asking about facial taping, the woman revealed that the method helped her achieve the anti-aging results she was hoping for.
“Once I put the tape on the 11 is 100% gone and will never come back,” she wrote under the handle “Jasperjohns.”
“I’ve been doing it for about 15 years. I also do facial massages for 11 seconds.”
However, she confessed that she doesn’t use any brands of tape made for skin care.
“I have a confession to make, and a further vote against: I use duct tape,” she said.
“Yes. One roll will last for two years.”
“It’s not cute, it’s not pink, it’s not the perfect shape, and it doesn’t “suit” my skin, but it’s extremely effective and doesn’t harm my skin.”

The Redditor advised anyone wanting to try the hack to do a patch test first.
She shared how to successfully use duct tape without any side effects.
“I apply a retinol and sometimes a peptide at night and let it dry,” she says.
“So there’s a barrier between my skin and the adhesive of the duct tape, which isn’t really a concern for me, but I thought I’d mention it.
“Then cut a thin piece of tape so that it fits between your eyebrows, then cut another piece of the same and stick it on top, so that the tape is thicker and you can’t frown even if you want to.
“It lasts all night with no issues. It doesn’t affect fine lines.”

Adhesive Solutions
Scotch Cloth Duct Tape sells for just $3.29 at Target and has a 4.5-star rating from customers.
According to the manufacturer, the rubber adhesive is designed for “everyday needs” and is suitable for a variety of surfaces.
But none of the glowing reviews mention using it to get rid of wrinkles.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Martin Newman told the Cleveland Clinic that facial taping only provides “temporary” results.
When you remove the tape the wrinkles come back.
This hack can also have side effects, including inflammation, allergic reactions, and scarring.
He warned that it was important to only use these designs for cosmetic purposes, as the “outer layer of skin” can be removed with tape.
