What advice do you have for other health professionals looking to start or expand their sexual health and beauty practice?
This is not your normal cosmetic medicine. It’s not Botox or fillers or anything like that. It’s a treatment that’s very specific to the vulva/vagina. First of all, if you’re interested, great. We need more ambassadors. But you need to take the time to find someone who is willing to teach you and train you. And don’t just jump in without knowing what the hell you’re doing. Again, we’re here to serve our patients, not to make their situation worse. We want to improve their situation. There are different conferences happening in the US, around the world. There are cosmetic gynecologists in the US and around the world who are ready and willing to teach. It’s a very welcoming community and they want more people to do this for their patients. The most important thing is to get educated, because there is no formal education. Go and actually offer it to your patients and just be excited. You have to be passionate about it. If you have passion, it’s easy to do. If you want to get into this for the right reasons, and the reason is to make the lives of your patients better. You don’t want to get into this for financial reasons. You don’t need that in medicine. If you do it for the right reasons, you will be successful.
