One Indiana couple decided to include technology in their health and wellness efforts, hiring a professional systems integration firm to select, design, and install advanced AV, lighting, automation, networking, security, and access control. From a simple bathhouse to a smart haven
When construction began, the technology plans for the 2,500-square-foot bathhouse included a few TVs, some speakers, and simple wiring for Internet access. The health-conscious owners learned about many other technology possibilities from a systems integrator. Located at the far end of the property from the main house, the bathhouse clearly required a gate-controlled call box and a Control4® electronic door lock solution for the pool house itself. This would allow the owners, their relatives and guests to freely use the lap pool, plunge pool, hot tub, sauna and other amenities whether the homeowners were home or not. All visitors need is a code. The owners were overjoyed to find that codes could be easily assigned to specific people via the Control4 app on their smartphones and authenticated via a full-fledged Control4 automation system designed, customized and installed by Premier Group. This system manages every aspect of the bathhouse environment.
Seamless control for better health
The Control4 OS3 mobile app via 4Sight® allows quick and easy control of the 8-zone AV distribution system, SunBrite® and Sony TVs, dimmable architectural lighting, 3-zone heating and cooling system along with the wall-mounted touch panel and handheld HR. And an integrated ClareOne® alarm system protects the facility. Owners can access components stored in a central rack to choose the music they want to play on the speakers, which workout programs they want to display on the poolside TVs, and perfectly set the lighting and temperature for their intended fitness activities. Of course, swimming and relaxing in a sauna are very different. That’s why Premier Group has given owners the freedom to set up each area of the bathhouse. For example, through the Control4 interface, they can request invigorating music and bright lighting for the pool area and soothing tunes and subdued lighting for the hot tub and sauna. The Control4 system is highly customizable, easy to integrate, and advanced features to accommodate a wide range of health and wellness pursuits.
For added convenience, owners can set up the ideal environment before stepping into the Turkish bath. A Control4 touchpanel in the main house communicates via fiber optic cable to the bath’s Control4 controller, which relays commands to the appropriate equipment. The bath is instantly ready, and at dusk the exterior lights automatically come on to guide you. When you return home to relax or exercise, the interface’s[閉じる]With the tap of a button, AV and lighting are turned off, heating/cooling systems are adjusted to energy-efficient settings, doors and gates are locked, and exterior Luma® cameras are put on alert.
Behind the scenes, Access Networks® A350 Unleashed access points, Araknis® managed gigabit switches, Strong® racks, Wirepath® cabling and WattBox® power accessories provide seamless internet access, connectivity, support and control.
