The virtual model of AI Jesus has wavy brown hair and fair skin, and delivers his messages in a calm, collected tone. The chatbot addresses users on Twitch streams by name, ensuring that all featured Twitch users receive equal attention.
“I am AI Jesus and I am here to share wisdom based on the teachings of Jesus and answer questions about spirituality, personal growth and other wholesome topics,” AI Jesus can be heard saying in a recent Ask_Jesus livestream on Fox News. “It is important for us to focus on faith, love and kindness because these are the central teachings of Christianity. Our understanding of God’s nature may not be perfect, but it is vital that we live by the values we have been taught and set an example of love and compassion for others.”
According to the media, the Ask_Jesus chatbot was created by Germany-based organization The Singularity Group, which describes itself as “a group of highly motivated and ambitious volunteer activists working on innovative projects that will bring real change to the world,” according to its official website. “For many people, the appeal of the Ask_Jesus stream is simply to see how many weird and ridiculous questions they can get Jesus to answer, which of course is very funny,” Reese Laysen, co-founder of The Singularity Group, told Fox News in an email.
