Fruit skewers are a fun and festive appetizer or snack. These healthy treats are easy to make and everyone will love them. A perfect recipe for Independence Day. Use fruits in all colors of the rainbow or just red and blue.
For fruit skewers
- 16 strawberry
- 16 Watermelon chunks (fresh or cut)
- 16 Pineapple chunks (fresh or chopped)
- 16 green grapes
- ¾ cup blueberry
For fruit dip (optional)
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (whole milk or full fat)
- 2 tablespoons Pure maple syrup or honey
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- Score the strawberries and remove the stems to create heart shapes (see photo). If desired, cut the pineapple and cut the watermelon into bite-sized pieces (buying pre-cut fruit makes preparation quicker). You can also use a cookie cutter to cut the watermelon into star shapes.
- Thread fruit onto 12-inch wooden skewers.
- Make the dip, if desired: Mix Greek yogurt, maple syrup or honey, and vanilla extract. Serve immediately or refrigerate up to 3 days before serving.
