Hwy 55 Nutrition changes ownership, expands offerings

Hwy 55 Nutrition, the local Mackenzie shop known for its nutritious shakes and teas, has officially changed owners, and in its place has been Rooted Nutrition, a smoothie and juice bar dedicated to carrying on the great tradition that Hwy 55 has built.
Former owner Bentley Houghton Kelly announced the move on social media, thanking everyone for the support they’d received over the past few months.
“After much thought and heartfelt gratitude, I am happy to announce that Hwy 55 Nutrition is officially changing ownership,” Kelly said in a statement. “We thank you for all the love and support over the past few months and will certainly miss each and every one of our customers.”
Kelly is leaving to pursue a career as a nurse in the obstetrics department at Andalusia Health and in the announcement she assured loyal customers that the business would remain in good hands.
“This announcement comes with big news! We can’t resist offering our loyal customers amazing teas and shakes, so Rooted Nutrition will be opening soon in the same building,” Kelly added.
New owners Dustin and Maddie Faust are eager to bring their vision to life under the name Rooted Nutrition.
“I’m thrilled to announce that Dustin and Maddie Faust are now the owners of Rooted Nutrition,” Kelly said in a farewell message. The Fausts have already introduced several new products, including Maddie’s famous iced coffee, acai bowls, spray tanning and a boutique.
Rooted Nutrition officially opened on May 17. The beverage shop is located at 21737 Mobile Road in McKenzie.
“We have a wide selection of teas, nutritious shakes and iced coffee,” Maddie Faust said, “We also have a boutique in the store, and we have tanning salons and tanning beds. We’re so thrilled with the support from our small town and it’s going really well. We’re so grateful.”
To commemorate this transition and welcome Rooted Nutrition to the community, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on June 18th to celebrate the Faust family’s induction into the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce. The ceremony celebrated a new beginning for Rooted Nutrition and highlighted the continued support from the local community.
