Memorial Hospital announced the successful conclusion of the Nauvoo Wellness Expo, held at the Nauvoo City Center on Monday, June 3, from 5-7 p.m.. The engaging event brought together approximately 80 attendees from the community and various health and wellness organizations, fostering health awareness and a community wellness spirit.
Attendees interacted with local health and wellness providers, including Nauvoo Pharmacy, Nauvoo Health & Chiropractic, Nauvoo Yoga and KEY (Keep Encouraging Yourself), as well as many representatives showcasing Memorial Hospital’s various departments and organizations. Chef Amber Clark also delighted guests with delicious snacks, adding a gourmet touch to the evening.
The expo featured a variety of fun activities, health screenings and educational opportunities aimed at improving the overall health of community members. Among the highlights were generously donated free prizes, including a month of free yoga classes with Karen Blunier of Nauvoo Yoga, two pool passes to The Inn at Old Nauvoo, a gift certificate and skin care set from Memorial MedSpa and Skin Essence products from Memorial Medical Clinic.
Tony Wasielewski, FNP-C, of Memorial Medical Clinic Nauvoo, shared his enthusiasm, saying, “It was truly rewarding to see so many community members interested and engaged in learning about health resources. Educating community members on these important topics is core to Memorial Hospital’s mission.”
Ashlyn Houseright, Executive Director of Community Health & Wellness, agreed, saying, “It was wonderful to see the positive interaction and enthusiasm of attendees to engage with the community and learn more about their health. Not only did the expo provide valuable information, it also strengthened bonds within the community. We look forward to continuing these efforts in the future to make a lasting impact on the health of our community.”
The event was aimed at all ages and included basic health screenings such as A1C and blood pressure testing, a teddy bear clinic courtesy of the Nauvoo Public Library and crafts for children. Community events such as the Nauvoo Wellness Expo highlight Memorial Hospital’s unwavering commitment to promoting wellness and empowering individuals to take control of their health.
