– INVI MindHealth, a leading mental health technology company, raised $1.5 million in a Series Seed funding round. The investment will fuel the advancement of its mobile applications with a focus on user experience and the integration of expert content on a range of mental health topics and solutions.
Additionally, funding will be allocated to the development of “Overwatch,” a powerful dashboard tool designed to help team leaders monitor and support the well-being of their members.
Meeting the needs of high-stress professionals
INVI MindHealth’s platform is specifically targeted to individuals in high-stress occupations, such as first responders and military veterans. The company has already partnered with a Los Angeles-based special tactics team, including 35 SWAT members, who use INVI to better understand their mental health, improve their overall well-being, and support each other (“Monitoring”). Through research-based tools and insights, the platform aims to reduce the negative impacts that high-stress environments have on the nervous system.
Breaking new ground in psychedelic drug therapy
Beyond its user-focused app, INVI MindHealth is also actively engaged in cutting-edge research. The company is partnering with a leading university in Texas to conduct a longitudinal observational pilot study to explore the potential of psychedelic drug-assisted psychotherapy for veterans suffering from PTSD. The study will involve 40 participants and will use a combination of clinical and neurobiological assessments, as well as biometric data collected through a wearable device. INVI will specifically focus on tracking heart rate variability, sleep patterns, and changes in heart rate induced by psychedelic drug intervention.
Pioneering personalized mental health solutions
Founded in 2020, INVI MindHealth has a bold vision to revolutionize mental healthcare through predictive analytics that identify potential declines in mental health. The company’s platform uniquely combines biometric authentication, deep learning analytics, artificial intelligence, and human connection to deliver a comprehensive solution. Notably, the app features a “Swim Buddy” system that allows users to share their MindScore™ with designated teammates and receive alerts if their buddy becomes unresponsive, fostering accountability and support within teams. Additionally, INVI integrates with popular wearable devices and Apple Health to provide a more comprehensive view of user data.
“INVI MindHealth began after several of my SEAL team teammates committed suicide,” said Founder and CEO Jonathan Wilson. “Veteran suicide rates were trending in the wrong direction and we felt the current healthcare model was inadequate and unmanageable to address this epidemic. We realized that mental health issues are not exclusive to veterans, they affect nearly everyone, and we felt an obligation to do something about it. This investment will accelerate the development of our innovative mental health platform,” said Wilson.
