Families affected by the mass shooting at a Rochester Hills splash pad will be able to receive mental health support closer to home starting Monday.
The Family Support Center, opened by Oakland County and the Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN), will be relocated to the Rochester Community Schools Administration Building, located at 52585 Dequindre Road in Rochester. Counselors will be available Monday and Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m. for victims, their families and those affected by violence.
County officials said 37 people had sought services at the center as of Friday afternoon.
OCHN will have a mental health resource table at the Festival of the Hills at Borden Park (1400 E. Hamlin Road) on Wednesday, June 26. The table will offer community resources rather than on-site counseling on the day.
Those unable to come to the Family Support Center can contact Oakland County Nurse-On-Call to learn about mental health resources by calling (800) 848-5533, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Michigan Crisis and Access Line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 988.
