In a recent partnership, Hill’s Pet Nutrition is offering a year’s supply of free dog food to families who adopt two senior dogs from Vanderpump Dogs. Senior dogs are always hard to find long-term homes for, and both organizations hope to encourage more people to consider Hill’s Pet Nutrition when visiting their local animal shelters and rescues.
Rescue and Hill’s Pet Nutrition are offering a year of free dog food to anyone who adopts a senior dog
Hill’s Pet Nutrition has partnered with Vanderpump Dogs to provide free dog food to anyone who adopts two senior dogs from the shelter. The owners will receive free pet food for one year in the hopes that they can find a forever home for Cody and Wilfred. The two dogs had been in loving homes until they were surrendered to the shelter due to circumstances beyond their owners’ control.
Cody is a 6-year-old terrier mix who was unfortunately surrendered due to financial issues in his family. Similarly, Wilfred, a 15-year-old chihuahua mix, was rescued by Vanderpump Dogs when his previous owner passed away. Senior dogs have very sweet personalities and would make a great addition to a family.
Natalie Phillips of Vanderpump Dogs told USA Today that not only are Cody and Wilfred senior dogs, but they’re also black, which may be why they haven’t been adopted yet. Plus, since being surrendered, Cody has not found a home.
Cody and Wilfred also walked the red carpet at the Garfield Movie premiere, accompanied by Cecily Strong, who has senior pets, and Strong went on to emphasize that people looking to bring a furry friend into their home should consider getting a senior dog.
She took to Hill’s Pet Nutrition’s social media platforms to say the dogs were “a gift to us.” Chris Pratt agreed, saying, “Providing a home for animals, especially senior animals, is truly an amazing act of service.”
