KOCHI: It seems doctors are not immune to the startup craze that has swept across Kerala. A casual discussion in a WhatsApp group among alumni of an Ayurvedic medical college has led to the launch of a startup focused on women’s health and infertility.
Ayufy, a startup co-founded by Dr Satheesh Kumar P, Dr Noushad Subair, Dr Varun Natarajan and Dr Kiran C Babu under parent company Medistacks Healthcare Ltd, recently launched its mobile app on the App Store and Play Store. The startup has 50 Ayurvedic doctors on its roster and claims to be India’s first Ayurvedic startup that caters to gynaecological issues in women of all ages.
Ayufy employs a holistic approach that integrates clinical psychology, yoga, and naturopathic dietary therapy to address the mental stress that often accompanies gynecological and fertility treatments. The latest investigative techniques and research-driven personalized treatment are provided through the platform. The startup also offers inpatient treatment options through its accredited centers.
Patients can register at www.ayufy.com or through the Ayufy mobile app and get access to experienced gynaecological and fertility specialists across various parts of India, with language options to cater to different preferences.
“A discussion on promoting Ayurveda at an alumni meeting of Santhigiri Ayurvedic University, Palakkad, led to the idea for our startup. Doctors from across India and abroad, who are part of the group, supported the idea as they were looking for a reliable team to refer patients for treatment and medicines. The current director led the discussion and we formed the company with 50 doctors,” Dr Satish Kumar P, author of ‘Effective Ayurvedic Management in Infertility’, told Onmanorama.
“Ayufy offers a simple yet powerful online consultation solution to provide convenient Ayurvedic health support, especially for PCOS, stress management, menstrual health issues, infertility and more,” he said.
Ayufy’s services were recently launched in Kochi by SD Shibulal, co-founder and former CEO of Infosys.
The two doctor-entrepreneurs decided to start the business after conducting market research through social media and medical opinion surveys among modern and Ayurvedic doctor communities. The company’s current target group is patients outside Kerala, India. They have plans to expand to the Gulf countries and then to Europe.
Ayufy currently has three designated inpatient centres in Kerala and in the first phase, discussions are underway to establish a network of outpatient and inpatient specialist centres around major cities in India.
Ayufy is also eyeing Kerala’s potential to become a hub for wellness tourism. “Ayufy offers Ayurvedic medical tourism packages that include treatments that explore the beauty of Kerala. Also, one of Ayufy’s big dreams is to set up a global Ayurvedic centre in Kerala that will provide authentic Ayurvedic treatment and wellness,” said Dr Satish Kumar. He said the company is looking for the right partners for investment and expansion.
