ALLIANCE, Ohio (WKBN) – A couple has been arrested after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of energy drinks, and police say hundreds of the drinks were found stuffed in the bed of their truck when they were arrested.
A man and woman from Mercer County, Pennsylvania, were arrested Wednesday night following an investigation into coupon fraud.
Alliance City Police announced on Facebook that 27-year-old Soud Kanan and 25-year-old Asma Kanan were arrested at Mark’s Store in the 2400 block of West State Street in Alliance just before 7:30 p.m.
Police say the two are under investigation for allegedly fraudulently stealing $1,600 worth of Ensure from a Marks and Myer store on June 11.
At the time of their arrest, the couple had hundreds of boxes of Ensure in the bed of a Penske truck, police said. Police said they believed the products were obtained illegally from stores in Boardman and Salem Mark.
Alliance City Police said the investigation is ongoing. Police said both Saud and Asma Kanan were charged with continuing to act with intent to commit theft by deception, a felony.
