Hackensack Meridian Health has opened the Hackensack Meridian Health & Wellness Center in Paramus, providing convenient access to outpatient care.
The Paramus facility on Frome Road is the third health and wellness center Hackensack Meridian Health has opened in the past three years.
“Hackensack Meridian Health is committed to meeting the evolving health care needs of the communities we serve,” said Robert Garrett, CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health. “By expanding access to comprehensive care in a convenient, centralized outpatient setting, we’re giving patients another way to meet their health care needs without the stress of going to the hospital.”
Hackensack Meridian Health & Wellness Centers are currently open at three locations across the state:
- Hackensack Meridian Health & Wellness Center at Paramus, 650 Frome Road, Paramus;
- at Clark’s Hackensack Meridian Health & Wellness Center, 1180 Raritan Road, Clark.
- at Hackensack Meridian Health & Wellness Center, 135 Route 35, Eatontown.
Hackensack Meridian Health & Wellness Center in Paramus will serve as a one-stop destination for people in the community to receive primary care, diagnostic imaging and testing, and other services they previously sought at multiple locations, including the hospital.
In addition to primary care, Hackensack Meridian Health & Wellness Center in Paramus offers specialty care including:
- Cardiology;
- Neurology (Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute)
- Rehabilitation (physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy)
- Orthopedics;
- rheumatology;
- allergy;
- Nephrology;
- Dermatology.
Hackensack Meridian Health plans to expand the Health and Wellness Center’s diverse range of services later this year to include additional services such as advanced diagnostic imaging, gastroenterology, oncology, infusions for oncology, other services and pediatric specialties.
“The opening of the Paramus Health and Wellness Center brings the quality of a hospital that is ranked No. 1 in New Jersey to the convenience of an outpatient facility,” said Mark Sparta, president and chief hospital officer of Hackensack University Medical Center and northern region president for Hackensack Meridian Health.
Physicians at Paramus Health & Wellness Center will use the same electronic health record system as Hackensack Meridian Health hospitals and outpatient facilities, providing comprehensive access to patient information at every point of care and throughout the continuum of care.
The opening of this facility, along with two health and wellness centers already open, is part of Hackensack Meridian Health’s broader commitment to providing patients with additional options to receive high-quality, affordable and compassionate care within their own communities.
“We believe convenient outpatient care centers, like our new Health & Wellness Center in Paramus, are the future of health care,” said Michael Geiger, senior vice president of health ventures for Hackensack Meridian Health. “Centers like this expand access to hospital-quality care close to home.”
Providing care in an outpatient setting provides patients with more personal attention and convenience, ultimately improving their overall healthcare experience. The opening of a health and wellness center also reduces congestion in hospitals, allowing medical staff to effectively focus on acute illnesses.
