The North Central Missouri Mental Health Center will celebrate its 50th anniversary with an open house event. This free event will be held June 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the basement conference room of its Trenton office.
Sarah Montgomery, Outreach Specialist at Brookfield, shared her thoughts on the importance of the event:
Participants will be treated to a pulled pork meal and dessert.
Maddie Katzinger, outreach specialist from Trenton, gave a brief history of the organization. The Green Hills Substance Abuse Task Force was formed in 1974. That same year, Green Hills Counseling Services was incorporated, received 501(c)(3) status and began providing services. In 1982, the agency was renamed North Central Missouri Mental Health Center and in 1988 moved its administrative offices to its current location in Trenton.
In 2017, the agency achieved Certified Community Behavioral Health Organization status.
Montgomery reported that the center currently has 126 employees serving approximately 1,500 individuals annually in a nine-county service area. The North Central Missouri Mental Health Center operates staffed offices in Chillicothe and Brookfield, with additional branches in Bethany, Gallatin, Milan and Unionville.
The June 27 open house will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn about the services offered by North Central Missouri Mental Health Center.
