Building on the success of its flagship clinic in Spain, SHA Wellness Clinic has opened its highly anticipated Mexican branch as part of the first phase of its global expansion.
Located in the state of Quintana Roo in the eastern Yucatan Peninsula, SHA Mexico rises above the Mayan jungle as a striking building inspired by the human genome.
The complex offers 100 oceanfront rooms and suites and 35 residences, each with a private balcony offering panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and luxurious bathrooms with rain showers.
Designed by architecture firm Sordo Madaleno and interior designer Alejandro Escudero, the property blurs the boundaries between indoors and outdoors with an organic, sustainable and contemporary feel.
Natural materials such as Mexican pottery, rattan, indigenous textiles and marble, as well as renewable energy sources, have been used throughout the resort to minimize the impact on the environment.
The lush tropical gardens, overseen by Mert Handasa, were designed with local plant species in mind.
Boasting its own white sand beaches, SHA Mexico is located opposite the largest coral reef in the Northern Hemisphere, a marine ecosystem of protected species.
SHA Wellness Clinic plans to open SHA Emirates in 2026 and further expand.
