The Madurai District Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA) will be organising the seventh edition of its Traditional Medicine and Herbal Medicines Exhibition ‘AYUSH 2024’ from June 21 to 23 at the MADITSSIA Campus, Dr Ambedkar Road from 10:30 am to 8:30 pm. Entry is free.
At a press conference here on Tuesday, MADITSSIA Chairman RM Lakshminarayanan, Expo Chairman K Raja Murugan and Vice Chairman J Jeyavenkatesh said the event will have over 75 booths from Indian medical device manufacturers. Health and wellness seminars, medicinal plant displays and free AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) medical camps will also be organised as part of the event.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Ministry of AYUSH, Central Council for Siddha Research, National Siddha Institute, National Board for Medicinal Plants, Department of Industry, Investment Promotion and Commerce, Tamil Nadu State Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Bank of India and Tamil Nadu Bank of Commerce.
With the support of the Siddha Medicinal Plant Garden, Mettur, Siddha Central Research Council, over 300 rare medicinal plants will be exhibited in separate booths. The names of the plants, description of their properties and treatment of diseases will be displayed along with explanations. Siddha and Ayurvedic medicinal plants will also be available for sale.
Besides this, AYUSH wellness seminars will be organised on various themes, competitions will be held for college students and free medical camps will be organised from 11 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 7 pm on all three days as part of the event.
