Veteran film actor Helen, 85, recently signed up for Pilates classes under the guidance of renowned fitness expert Yasmin Karachiwala, who posted an interactive video featuring the veteran actor on her Instagram feed. When asked why she decided to join the Pilates classes, Helen told Yasmin, “You. Every day you ask me and I say tomorrow. I knew you were tired of telling me and I felt guilty. So the next day I called you and said darling, I am coming and I am never missing another Pilates class.”
Reflecting on the benefits of Pilates, Helen said, “Yasmin, I feel so energetic, alive, happy and I look forward to this every day. I feel great. I get a high. I don’t need to drink or smoke. Pilates gives me that high.” The video also shows Helen practicing Pilates with sincerity.
Recalling the health issues she had before joining the classes, Helen said, “I had a cane. My cane is in a cupboard somewhere. I had a knee problem. I had to get an injection in my knee. It has healed completely. I can walk on my own and maybe even dance.” Helen concluded with a smile, “Tell all the dancers in the industry to stay calm. I will be back.” Yasmin Karachiwala shared the video and wrote, “Age is just a number when you are dancing your life with Pilates.
