Siddhalepa Ayurveda, a leading Sri Lankan traditional Ayurveda company, has launched the promotion of Sri Lankan traditional medicine system ‘Hera Vedakama Ayurveda’ in the UAE for the first time at Arab Travel Mart 2024 held at the Novotel Hotel, World Trade Centre, Dubai.
The launch was inaugurated by Siddhalepa Ayurveda Health Resort as a kick-off session for an awareness campaign targeting health-conscious travellers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
SriLankan Airlines in collaboration with GCC travel trade and media partners has planned a special promotional campaign that will reach across the GCC region.
International travellers’ expectations have now expanded beyond the typical holiday, with medical and holistic health travel currently booming, so this initiative offers huge health benefits for medical tourists exploring alternative medicines.
The key presentation of the session was given by Ayurveda Ratna, Ashoka Hettigoda, Chairman and Managing Director, Siddhalepa Ayurvedic Health Resorts.
The launch was attended by 45 professionals, including members of the Arab travel industry and media based in the GCC region, who praised Siddhalepa for his efforts in promoting medical tourism.
Several travel agents added that Sri Lanka should continue these types of sessions because it helps promote and sell Ayurvedic packages in the region. Some expressed a desire to experience authentic Ayurvedic treatments in Sri Lanka. Siddhalepa Ayurvedic Health Resort plans to conduct a series of tours for the GCC travel trade and media in the coming months.
Australian Market Development Facility has collaborated with Siddhalepa to help expand into growing frontier markets in the GCC region, marking a major step towards diversifying the source markets for Sri Lanka’s wellness tourism industry. Following the success of ATM in 2024, Siddhalepa and MDF will continue to collaborate in driving and executing marketing and promotional activities around new market entry and growth. Special promotions will target Saudi Arabia, UAE, Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Oman.
