Do you suffer from chronic inflammation? These high-fiber snacks are the perfect addition to your lunch. Not only do they contain at least 3 grams of fiber per serving, but these snacks also contain ingredients like beans, berries and nuts that help reduce inflammation in the body. Add snacks like our anti-inflammatory energy balls or crunchy roasted chickpeas for a portable, satisfying and nutritious bite.

Anti-inflammatory Energy Balls

Inspired by the flavor Cherry Garcia, these Chocolate Cherry Date Energy Balls are a delicious tribute to the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor named after the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia. Filled with dark chocolate chunks and dried tart cherries, they’re not only delicious, but also packed with polyphenols, a nutrient found in cherries that helps reduce inflammation.

Crispy roasted chickpeas

Try this satisfying snack instead of nuts: tasty legumes are low in calories and high in fiber.

Snickerdoodle Almond

Mixing almonds into foamy egg whites helps impart a sweet and savory flavor to these festive Almond Snickerdoodles, making them the perfect appetizer for any holiday party.

Apple & Peanut Butter Energy Balls

These energy balls combine two of fall’s best flavors: apples and pumpkin pie spice. If you want a stronger apple flavor, you can also use apple butter instead of applesauce. Don’t confuse dried apples with apple chips; apple chips have a crunchy texture that will make the energy balls too crunchy. If the apple mixture is sticky and difficult to roll, lightly coat your hands with cooking spray or refrigerate the mixture for 15 minutes before rolling.

High Fiber Guacamole Snack Jar

Fill a mason jar with shredded red peppers, pepper jack cheese, and guacamole for a healthy, tangy snack anytime. Substitute regular jack or cheddar cheese for less heat. Serve with pretzels, crackers, or tortilla chips for a heartier meal.

Kale chips

Christine Ma

Don’t really like kale? You will too after trying these crispy baked kale chips! For best results, do not overcrowd the baking pan.

Rosemary and Garlic Pecans

Jennifer Causey

These flavorful, spiced nuts are perfect to snack on, add to a cheese board, or serve as mini appetizers.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Bar

Dates provide all the sweetness you need in this no-bake energy bar, each bar is packed with protein thanks to the peanut butter and peanuts, plus fiber from the oats, and kids love the crunchy, nutty bites.

Cottage Cheese Snack Jar

Photographer: Rachel Marek, Food Stylist: Holly Dreesman, Prop Stylist: Gabriel Greco

This creamy, crunchy snack packs 20 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber in one small mason jar. Add the chickpeas just before serving to keep them crisp. If you’d prefer to store everything in one jar, use 1/4 cup washed canned chickpeas instead.

Jonathan Perno’s Spiced Candy Pecans

Chef Jonathan Perno likes to treat guests to spicy New Mexico pecans, both at home and at Campo, his restaurant at Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm in Albuquerque. Though you won’t find them in most spiced nut recipes, Chef Perno blanches his pecans to reduce the bitter tannins in the skin that can sometimes overwhelm the pecan’s delicate flavor.

Everything Bagel Crispy Chickpeas

Crunchy, salty and everything you want in a bagel, these crispy chickpeas are a delicious, healthy snack. Great on their own or tossed in a salad to add some crunch. Peel the chickpeas for extra crunch. Look for “Everything Bagel Seasoning” in the spice aisle, available at most supermarkets now.

Apples with Cinnamon Almond Butter

Adding a pinch of cinnamon takes this healthy snack from basic to amazing.

Blueberry Pecan Energy Balls

Dried blueberries and pecans combined with cacao nibs make a chocolate treat that can be enjoyed any time of the day. Cacao is a bit more bitter than chocolate, but the maple syrup helps to balance that bitterness. Almond butter and chia seeds add protein for a satisfying snack that will give you energy.

Strawberries and cottage cheese

This snack is mixed with one serving of dairy and one serving of fresh fruit to provide your daily dose of Vitamin C and Calcium.

Guacamole and Pepper Dippers

This easy snack recipe skips the tortilla chips and uses bell peppers as guacamole dippers to get a healthy dose of Vitamin C.
