He says the budget products target “various signs of aging,” but that his favorite skin care products are available at his local drugstore.

Hardik Soni, MD, is the Founder and Medical Director of Ethos Aesthetics and Wellness.
He shared some of the best proven anti-aging products that are affordable and high quality.
Great Value
The Ordinary Buffet is a popular multi-peptide serum that “targets multiple signs of aging” and is known for its affordable price.
Another product he recommends is an over-the-counter retinoid called Differin Gel, also known as Adapalene.
Dr. Soni often recommends this due to its effectiveness and affordability.
“Retinoids have been studied for decades and have beneficial effects on the skin: they promote skin cell renewal and turnover, inhibit sebum production, and stimulate collagen production,” he explained.
“Adapalene tends to be less irritating than tretinoin or retinoic acid.”
He recommended using this formulation every other night.

“The effects of retinoids last for up to 48 hours, so you may not need to use them every night,” he adds.
Dr. Soni also recommended SkinMedica’s Replenish Hydrating Cream, which contains hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, vitamin C, and other soothing ingredients.
“It’s highly hydrating and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s safe and effective for all skin types,” he said.
Finally, she recommended incorporating Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Regenerating Cream, which contains retinol and hyaluronic acid, into your skincare routine.
Makes a great addition to skin care products that contain retinol and hyaluronic acid.
Similar to SkinMedica Hydrating Cream, it also works to reduce wrinkles and hydrate the skin.
DIY Details
If you’re looking for more natural alternatives to your skincare routine, Dr. Soni also shared some natural DIY methods.
First, he spoke passionately about the benefits of aloe vera and its ability to hydrate the skin, soothe minor inflammation, and provide healing.

Applying green tea can help reduce inflammation and protect your skin from damage.
Dr Soni also advises avoiding two natural kitchen staples that many people include in their skincare routines.
First, they warned that lemon juice can cause irritation, increase sensitivity to the sun, and damage the skin.
Baking soda is “very alkaline” and can “upset the skin’s natural pH balance,” which can lead to dryness and irritation.
Real Regimen
Dr. Soni also shared her personal skin care routine that she uses for her combination skin, which tends to be sensitive.
In the morning, I wash my face with Skin Medica’s AHA/BHA cleanser, followed by a Vitamin C serum for antioxidant protection and brightening benefits.
Follow with a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer.
The final step is to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, reapplying throughout the day as needed.
When it comes to his evening routine, less is more.
He uses the same face wash, but follows it with Differin gel, which has anti-aging and anti-acne properties.
Finally, follow with a rich, hydrating night cream with peptides and ceramides.
Men’s Must-Haves
Dr Soni also offered some advice for men.
He said many of his male patients prefer simple, effective products like CeraVe Moisturizing Cream and Neutrogena HydroBoost Water Gel for hydration.
“If there was a single treatment for men, a retinoid such as Differin or retinoic acid would suffice,” he added.
